Description
It is a renovated, studio apartment in a very, antique building of the 16th century, situated on the first floor with no elevator in Trastevere, right in the heart of Rome. This building is protected by the Ministery of Arts and therefore cannot be restructured. The entrance is quite simple with the stairs that are made out of the antique typical Roman stone, but this is all quite characteristic! And once you are inside the apartment you are very pleasantly surprised.
This cute apartment has lots of natural light and three large windows that still feature the handmade glass used in the late 18th century. The apartment has still its original wood flooring and exposed wooden beams that enhance the lovely high ceilings. The living area has a double bed, and a double sofa, whilst the dining area has a small kitchenette and dining table with four chairs. This kitchenette is very simple and small, with a stove that has two burners, a small fridge and the basic cooking utensils that are needed to prepare meals. The bathroom has a bathtub and has been tastefully painted in relaxing shades of blue. It also has a hair dryer, and an iron can be added if necessary.
The apartment is ideal for a couple who likes to have life around them. In the summer, when it gets to be a little hot, opening the windows allows lots of air to ventilate, but it also allows the noise of the people, 18 - 25's who like to gather in the streets outside until 4 - 5 a.m. - & then being replaced by the street cleaners. If you are a light sleeper, then buying ear plugs would be a great idea! It is ideal for two people, but since there are also double sofa beds, an additional person can stay at 15€ . If interested, then please contact Rome Tourism's staff.
There is a tiny balcony that looks out over the typical winding streets of Trastevere. You will find it difficult to resist the tempting aromas rising up from one of the oldest bakeries in the city, famous for its "focaccia", which is just across the street!
