Renowned Commercial Streets

Via Nazionale, five minutes on foot from the Termini train station, is a haven for fashionistas, lined with shops selling clothes, shoes and leather accessories for both men and women. Just be careful to check that what you are buying is actually Italian and not made in China!

Via Ottaviano, another well-known street, leads to the
Vatican. You can get to this street by getting off at the Ottaviano metro station on the A line. Strolling down the street you come across shops like Max Mara and List, brands well-known for making modern yet classy clothes that are a perfect fit. This is a great spot for some mother-daughter shopping, since the street is also home to many shops specialising in teenage fashion.

Once you reach Piazza Rinascimento, turn left and walk down Via Cola di Rienzo. This street is lined with a variety of shops selling clothes and shoes for all ages.

It used to be an elegant street where the city’s wealthy came to do their shopping. Now it has become quite commercial, but you can still find original things amidst the enormous selection. Here you also find the famous brands like Benetton, Stefanel, etc. In addition to clothes for men, women and children, you can also find a wide variety of home accessories here.

Via del Corso, one of the
Rome’s most celebrated streets, perfect for simply strolling and checking out the window displays or diving into an extravagant shopping spree. The street runs through the historical centre of Rome and connects Piazza Venezia to Piazza del Popolo. It is a very long street with so many shops that it would be impossible to list them here. In addition to being a shopping paradise, it is also quite simply a lovely street for a little urban afternoon walk.

The many side streets that branch off Via del Corso and lead to Piazza Spagna are filled with shops as well, mostly specialised in designer clothing. Some of these streets are Via delle Vite, Via Frattina, Via Condotti, etc.

Via Condotti is the catwalk of
Rome, filled with all the famous, high-end names. Here you find the ultimate in elegance by glamorous houses like Bulgari, Versace, Hérmès, Salvatore Ferragamo, etc. This street is so pretty that it makes for a lovely visit even if you don’t buy anything at all – truly a feast for the eyes!

Viale dei Tritoni is the street that takes you from Piazza Barberini down to the Fontana di Trevi (The Trevi Fountain). This road is also full of stores; just make sure to check the quality of the items before you purchase them.
